A BALANCED APPROACH, UNWAVERING LEADERSHIP.
Elijah Manley talks about the promise of transparency in government spending. He pledges to put people first, and bureaucracy later.
My name is Elijah Manley, and I'm a political activist. I was born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I am a proud graduated of Fort Lauderdale High, and I am running to be your next Representative on the Broward County School Board. I am a community organizer, activist, and a writer. I am studying political science at Broward College and will pursue a career in constitutional law. When I am not engaged in politics, I spend my time writing, helping people, organizing action, and traveling.
There are so many issues facing Broward County, such as: lack of transparency, fiscal and financial irresponsibility, a failed bonds program, underpaid teachers and non-instructional staff, unpaid contractors, and a corroded educational curriculum called common core. In my platform, you'll find out what I stand for and why our system is failing. We must fight for a school system that puts our teachers and students first. I am committed to that effort.
Here are some of the organizations I serve on:
Along with several other strong activists, we defeated fracking in Broward County.
Along with the Black Lives Matter Alliance, I have been on the front lines side-by-side with other activists, fighting for police reform.
Organized communities in support of Tuition free college and education.
