ROBERT RUNCIE HAS FAILED BROWARD COUNTY. IT IS TIME FOR HIM TO GO.
Elijah Manley addresses the school board's decision to give our Superintendent a $28k salary increased, despite his failure to address school safety and infrastructure.
My name is Elijah Manley, and I'm a rock star political activist born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I graduated from Fort Lauderdale High in June of 2017, and I am running to be your next Representative on the Broward County School Board. I am a organizer, activist, and a Publisher. I am studying political science at Broward College and will pursue a career in constitutional law. When not engaged in politics, I spend my time writing, giving public speeches, organizing protests, and traveling.
There are so many issues facing Broward County, such as: lack of transparency, fiscal and financial irresponsibility, a failed bonds program, underpaid teachers and clerical staff, corrupt contracting deals, and a corroded educational curriculum called common core. In my platform page, you'll find out what I stand for and why our system is failing. We must transform our district into a democratized schooling system, which values laborers (teachers) & clients (students), and not corporations. I am committed to that effort.
Here are some of the organizations I serve on:
Along with several other strong activists, we defeated fracking in Broward County.
Along with the Black Lives Matter Alliance, I have been on the front lines side-by-side with other activists, fighting for police reform.
Organized communities in support of HR 676, Medicare for All.
Brenda Forman, Broward County Clerk of Courts
Dale Holness, Broward County Commissioner
